Breakaway Playscheme Important Info

At Breakaway Playschemes we aim to provide quality play activities and experiences for our children and young people and offer respite time for parents and carers. We will promote equality and diversity in all our activities and encourage inclusion by offering support to enable our children and young people to play.

We will work in partnership with all relevant organisations and parents/carers; develop policies and procedures and ensure they are followed and regularly reviewed; and provide training and development opportunities for our staff and volunteers.

The smooth running of our playschemes relies on the support of parents and carers.

Please help us by: -

  • During your child's session a parent or carer must remain within 30 minutes travel of the scheme, so you can arrive promptly should you be called to attend in an emergency.
  • Notifying us in advance if a booked place is no longer needed. We often have waiting lists so we could help another family. (If we do not receive a minimum of 7 days’ notice £10.50 cost will still apply).
  • Keeping your child at home if they are unwell. Please do not send your child to playscheme within 48-hours of them having suffered a bout of sickness or diarrhoea.
  • All medicines should be in their original container with pharmacy label. Please note, only medication prescribed by a doctor will be accepted.
  • Remembering that all medication must be handed in upon arrival and collected at the end of the day. We cannot store medicine overnight.
  • Not including fizzy drinks or items containing any nuts.
  • Supplying a spare set of clothes (with your child’s name) if your child is likely to need them
  • Making sure that your child brings a coat (clearly labelled) in colder weather.
  • Applying sun cream to your child before arrival at the Playscheme In warmer weather.
  • Supplying nappies and wipes if your child requires them.
  • Informing us if there are any changes to your child’s routine or care requirements.
  • Informing us of any unusual changes in your child’s mood or demeanour on the day
  • Informing us of who will be picking your child up. If this person is not the parent / carer they will be required to provide the correct password which you supplied to us on the most recent application form.
